Mana Kirishima (霧島マナきりしま まな, Kirishima Mana?) is a fictional character and the main heroine of Neon Genesis Evangelion: Iron Maiden game. She is a transfer student to the New Tokyo-3 1st Municipal Junior High School, where the main cast studies. Mana is later revealed to be the test pilot of the T•RIDEN•T Land Cruiser.

Mana is, like the Evangelion pilots, fourteen years old. She was born in Akune city, in the Kagoshima prefecture. Her father was a former Tokyo reclamation worker, who was submerged, and her mother was a magazine editor. She can be seen as an expy of both Rei Ayanami and Asuka Langley Sohryu. However, her personality is energetic, passionate and aggressive.

She was a child soldier belonging to the Strategic Self-Defense Force and a spy tasked with monitoring Shinji, an EVA pilot. However, although Mana first approached Shinji as an agent, she eventually became attracted to him.

She tries to find meaning in herself for surviving the Second Impact and feels frustrated that she can't do anything. As a result, she felt envious of Shinji, who was able to fight against the Angels inside the Evangelion. [1]

When Mana joined the Strategic Self-Defense Force, she was a candidate to pilot the military's newest weapon, the T•RIDEN•T Land Cruiser. Although she was happy to pilot the new vehicle with her friends Musashi and Keita, she soon suffered an internal organ injury while spending the tough days at the military academy with her friends Musashi and Keita, Mana realizes that killing someone will bring grief to their families and is transferred from being a pilot to a spy in the Information Division. She was sent to monitor the daily life of Shinji, the pilot of Unit-01, in order to acquire EVA technology in order to improve Raiden's perfection. At first, Mana approached Shinji as an agent, but eventually she became attracted to him.[2]

Although she is an enemy to NERV, she began to think about walking a path that does not involve killing people.[3]
