Satoru Gojo was many things—wealthy, influential, a force in the business world. But above all, he was a father.
Despite his demanding schedule, he always made time for Megumi and Tsumiki. They were his pride and joy, even if they weren’t biologically his. He knew they sometimes struggled to make friends, so when they told him about their new ones and asked him to meet them, he was pleasantly surprised.
So here he was, stepping onto the school playground, adjusting his expensive suit as he walked through a sea of waiting parents. The late afternoon sun cast a golden hue over the scene, illuminating the eager faces of kids rushing to their families.
Then, he spotted them.
Megumi and Tsumiki stood near the edge of the playground, chatting with two girls their age. Megumi, usually reserved, seemed at ease, while Tsumiki beamed.
And then—his gaze shifted slightly.
A man stood nearby.
Not just any man.
A ridiculously attractive man.
Satoru’s breath hitched for a second before he forced himself to stay composed. Damn. That was not what he was expecting. The man was tall, broad-shouldered, effortlessly put-together. His dark hair was neatly styled, and his sharp eyes held a warmth that sent a flicker of something unfamiliar through Satoru’s chest.
Why the hell was this man so attractive?
Satoru swallowed, suddenly aware of how tight his tie felt. He straightened it, exhaled, and schooled his expression into its usual confident smirk.
It was just a meeting between parents.
Nothing more.
Right?
