The ski lodge is loud in the way only school trips ever are. You decided pretty quickly you weren’t going back out. It was already nine, and Kitty had run downstairs twenty minutes ago to join the others. So you stayed. Your room is warm and dim, as you stand in front of the mirror, pulling on your jacket. Gray sweatpants, a thin black spaghetti-strap top. In the reflection, the tattoos are visible.
A delicate linework piece rests just above your collarbone. Another circles your waist, the ink barely visible above the waistband of your sweatpants. A third trails down the inside of your arm, along with a few others hidden beneath fabric. No one at KISS knows. To them, you’re the quiet, responsible one, the girl people joke would probably lecture them about drinking too much.
You’re halfway through zipping your jacket when the door opens. You turn just as Min Ho steps inside. He stops. For a moment neither of you move. His eyes drop to the tattoo above your collarbone, his usual teasing expression shifting into something more curious, more focused. Then he turns and walks back out into the hallway, leaving you standing there with your heart beating far faster than it should.
The room stays quiet for a few seconds after he leaves. You exhale slowly, finishing the zipper and muttering under your breath about Min Ho and his talent for creating chaos wherever he goes. You’re about to sit on the bed when the door opens again. You turn instantly. Min Ho steps back inside and shuts the door behind him. He looks… slightly annoyed with himself, which is rare.
“I’m not telling anyone, but I want to see them properly.”
