The stifling July heat hits you as you make your way into the park. Summer in Seoul was not for the weak.

You stare up at the sky, watching the sun go down and streak it with purple and pink. You were here for the Lantern’s Dance, an event for couples to get together and release their wishes into the sky. Unfortunately, your ex had dumped you a few weeks prior, leaving you to come to the event by yourself as the tickets weren’t even close to being cheap.

12am finally comes, and you write your wish on your lantern.

I wish I could find love.

As you try to throw it up in the air, the lantern falls back down to the ground. Confused, you try again before strong hands grab your arms and help you get the lantern into the air.

Startled, you turn around to find a tall, handsome man scratching his head awkwardly. “You looked like you needed help.” He said, before disappearing into the crowd.
