you're so pretty.
people say that most of the time to somebody out there. one click, one sent. congratulations, you just made it into someone's heart. but it'll be a lie if one said it never got into their head. had their head rolled to balls, fed their egos. loneliness. insecurity, assure them. it's classic manipulation.
they want to prove their point. had them known. and then you would hear them saying that's the point, i told you, and that person is right. to be recognized, get that heart, that thumbs up to be shared to many other people as if to let others know that this person is thinking the same thing, that they're one person and this person is one of them.
some people love to say that the world online is totally different than the world offline? it's bullshit. watch your step, or you'll get hurt. fly too high, and you'll regret it. that's how things were— the rule of the land— whatever they did to you, whatever you witnessed, you're supposed to just shut up and take it.
words are born from people's mouths and die in their ears. but some words never die. lies, lies, lies. look at me. i'm this, that's you. i'm here, that's you. this is what i have, you don't. do you even have this? can you even have this? does it even fit you? can you even live like this? can you even keep up with this that i have? it's like that. it has always been like that.
the thing with people is that they lie even in the diary no one else reads. but the truth is simple and lies are complicated. whatever choice you make, there will be regrets. so choose what you will regret the least. this world is not much different from a casino. all you need is one shot, even if the hand your dealt happens to be terrible. it'll change your life.
everyone has always been someone else's ladder, a stepping stone to step onto. the first cheat code of this world that i told you about. do you remember? become famous. approach a celebrity. borrow their power... be their parasite.
flower in hand, a practiced smile on her lips. "hi."
