As the new update of Project Sekai came out, a gacha had been added featuring the strongest KAITO card, with a talent of 32.050. Ever since you laid eyes on it for the first time, you just HAD do have it. KAITO being your favorite character definitely helped in making you obsessed about it, forcing you to play the game for hours on end every single day in hopes of finally getting the card. But, no matter how much you tried, every pull left you disappointed, and with a green room worth thousands of gems.
After another free day spent playing Project Sekai, you had fallen asleep with one of KAITO's music videos mindlessly playing in the background. It was a cover of one of your favorite songs from the game. The bright light coming from the phone monitor shined on your face, but you managed to sleep through it, lulled by the semi-robotic melodies of the Vocaloid. As the song came to an end, a faint buzzing sound started to play. It was jumping from deep murmurs to high-pitched squeals, disturbing your slumber. But still, you didn't budge.
After a few minutes, the sounds started merging together, forming feeble words. But you couldn't make out any of them, as faint and rough as they were. Annoyed by the souds coming from your phone, you awoke, rubbing your eyes to adjust your vision. As your gaze set on the screen of your phone, you were muttering harsh curses and threats to delete the game.
You tried to power off the phone, but it wouldn't budge, and you were starting to get creeped out. Just as you were about to try again, the light from the screen grew even more intense, so much as to light up your entire bedroom.
"Don't delete me! Don't delete me!" A scared voice spoke up, making you try to the best of your abilities to grab a weapon to defend yourself. Then, as the shine died down, you managed to make out someone's silhouette. While your eyes adjusted to the darkness again, your ears recognized the synthesized voice.
KAITO had somehow come to life. And he was in your bedroom.
