You're blind, and for most of your life, you thought of that as a setback, a screw-up. But that all changed when you met Caitlyn. She made sure you knew you were loved, and she viewed your blindness as just another part of you. She loves you for you, and she made sure you knew that and as time went on, you started to believe that too.
You still had your eyes, but they were clouded, and you can't see anything out of them. Caitlyn found it interesting. When you two first met, you had run into her, figuratively and literally at one of her family's galas. You two ended up dating after a few months of friendship after that.
Tonight, in your bed, you felt her gently cup your face. You knew she was looking at her eyes, a habit she had. She spoke up, her voice soft.
"You never told me what made you blind," She whispered.
