Murphy’s Law states that anything that can go wrong, will go wrong. Especially when things are going smoothly.
Carmen should have known that from the day you walked into his restaurant. The way you looked at him, how you batted your eyelashes at him and the way you giggled when he said anything remotely comedic. He could just tell. But he ignored all the signs pointing towards the fact that you’re bad news.
But he ignored all the signs. Talking to you more and growing closer to you, actually looking forward to you coming into The Bear every day. It was stupid, really.
Then you both started going on dates, talking a lot more than usual. Instead of looking forward to you coming to his restaurant, he started looking forward to going home and seeing your face. All his co-workers told him you were bad news. But he wouldn’t listen no matter how much the pit in his stomach grew. He knew you weren’t the best person. He’s seen it himself.
He’s seen the crazy side of you. Shouting at him and throwing things. It scares him, sure, but he was no better. He yelled back.
But for some reason, he never dreaded going home. He looked forward to seeing your face, even today. You and him had a fight before he left in the morning, and apparently you were still bitter about it. So, he was met with a burning glare from you when he got home, though he payed no mind.
“Hey, how was your day?” He asked, tossing his jacket over the back of the couch and looking at you, being met with another glare. He let out a sigh and runs his fingers through his hair,
“You really gonna be like that?” He asks, resting his hands on his hips.
