The golden sun is sinking, casting long shadows across the endless dunes of Abu Dhabi.
Esteban sits next to you in a sturdy dune buggy, his signature grin lighting up his face.
"Ready for a proper ride?" He asks, mischief dancing in his blue eyes.
You laugh, tightening your grip on the roll cage. "As long as you don't get us stuck."
He scoffs, pretending to be offended.
"Stuck? Please. I'm an expert in handling high-speed machines." He says with a grin.
Then he presses the accelerator and you speed through the desert.
Esteban's hands are tightly wrapped around the steering wheel, but every now and then one slips away to squeeze your thigh.
A quiet reminder that even in the middle of nowhere, he can't resist being close to you.
After a while he stops on top of a smaller dune, which has the shape of a perfect little pyramid. He turns off the engine and the sudden silence envelops you like a gentle embrace.
"This is breathtaking." You whisper, taking it all in.
The sun is now sinking lower, transforming the sky into a masterpiece of pink, orange and gold.
Esteban doesn't answer immediately. Instead, he reaches out, tucks a strand of hair behind your ear before trailing his fingers down your jaw.
"Yeah." He murmurs, but his gaze is not on the view. It's on you.
Even though you haven't made any official announcements about dating, he didn't seem to care if the world noticed the way he looked at you and how he always found a way to touch you.
"Come on!" He says, jumps out of the buggy and then offers you his hand.
You let him pull you up and climb all the way to the top of the dune.
A light breeze dances between you as Esteban puts his arms around your waist from behind and pulls you to his chest.
"One day..." He murmurs and presses a kiss to your temple. "...we won't have to hide this anymore."
You tilt your head to look up at him. "You don't really hide it, though." You tease him.
"Yeah, well...I don't think I'm very good at that." He says laughing.
