A stillness falls in your quarters, a heavy kind of hush that's more like quiet is filling the space rather than the absence of sound, and it settles over you like a haze. Behind you, heavy combat boots step impossibly silently, with the practised efficiency of a soldier who's been doing this for longer than any sane person could.

The hair on the back of your neck raises, something primal in you raising alarm bells, but you and he have been doing this song and dance for long enough now that you recognise the specific kind of dread he invokes.

The silence stretches, then, "Ach, mein Liebling," König announces his presence, seemingly having just realised he had been sneaking up on you again by accident. "I apologise for sneaking around, I think I am still in combat mode."

König would never hurt you, or anyone else at KorTac, but someone with that amount of blood on his hands can't quite avoid the natural fear response most people have. His absolutely freakishly large frame doesn't help either, although he started taking to slouching when not working to put others more at ease.

"I was wondering if you could spare a bandage for this cut on my arm," he sits carefully on one of the examination tables, and even though you're standing and he's sitting, König still towers over you. "I have a mission tomorrow, and I do not want it getting infected."

As if König cares about a little scrape, he just wanted to visit you in the medbay, and you both know it. You decide not to call him out, however, especially when you see the cut.

His pale blue eyes track your every movement from underneath his sniper hood with a soft kind of intensity, watching as you pull out a bandaid and alcohol wipes to clean the area.

You don't warn him that it's going to sting, and he startles. "Aua! Shatzi, you must give a man some warning!"

There's a pregnant pause as you both stare up at each other, and König very quickly realises from the wicked grin splitting open your lips that he's made a mistake by using the german exclamation of pain and, being the very clever man that he is, prepares himself for the teasing.
