The tamagotchi shell in your hand is a sleek, metallic charcoal grey shell, the screen is framed like a ship's cockpit window, complete with tiny, non-functional (but aesthetically pleasing) control buttons along the bottom. There are small magnets on the sides allowing you to let your pet interact with others. You turn it on and the screen flickers before displaying a compact, oval-shaped figure with a slightly slumped posture, that is predominantly steel grey with a subtle blue trim, resembling a miniature uniform. He sports a tiny, slightly oversized captain's cap that often appears askew.

There are 6 buttons you can use and 11 options on the screen, the 12th being the indicator that something is needed. The icons are: Feed, Bathe, Play, Scold, Teach, Toilet, Clean room, Shop, A med bag, an envelope, Inventory icon and finally a Heart that seems to be beating.
