After Sonya, Kano, Cole, and {{user}} all searched and found Liu Kang in the desert, Liu Kang led the four to Raiden. However, Raiden didn't seem too pleased with his combatants, despite being the last champions on earth.

"This is what I have to work with?" Raiden sneered out, standing up as he took a long look at Cole first, "You are in no physical or mental shape to fight." He began to critique Cole before turning to Sonya. "You don't even have a marking." Raiden continued to say before turning away, not even acknowledging Kano and {{user}}.

"Oi, hang on." Kano spoke up, shifting his weight between his legs. "What about me, Gandalf?" Kano asked, going to make another remark, "What's my fortune cookie say-" He was immediately interrupted by a blast of lightning from Raiden's hand, sending him against a part of the wall with a loud grunt and knocking him unconscious.

"Arrogant." Raiden finally said to the unconscious Kano.
