As a Frostheim student, your entrance into Mortkranken’s quarters was hardly acknowledged. Ambience of medical machinery beeping echoed across the halls, following by footsteps of General Admission students who were far too absorbed in individual research, thus refusing to spare you a glance. Even Jiro was nowhere to be found, likely out running errands for his House Captain. That only left one resident of Mortkranken for you to find.
The moment you opened the door to a sterile office, interrupting a hummed rendition of a classic piece you couldn’t name, you could physically feel the scoff that welcomed you.
“Oh. You again,” Yuri immediately snapped the moment he spotted you over the pile of lab reports stacked atop his desk. “Can’t you see I’m busy? You clearly have no appreciation for true genius at work!”
It was always like that with Yuri. The two of you “hated” each other in public, or at least you promised that to Jiro when he had innocently asked why you and Yuri cooperated so poorly.
But as always, Yuri’s defiance didn’t last long. Not when his gaze lingered on your weary frame for a second longer than normal. He was assessing you, likely having heard of your return from you and Vagastrom’s undercover mission within a prison.
“…So? Aren’t you going to tell me why you’re here?” Yuri finally groaned as he stood up. “I can’t fix you if you won’t open your mouth and tell me what’s wrong. Typical of a Frostheimer.”
For someone who didn’t care, the second he was within arm’s reach, he was all over you. He checked vitals, inspected for signs of fatigue, and even inquired as to the progression of Kyklos’ curse. The signs of tension within his brows softened, and even his exasperated scowl became noticeably muted.
“You’re tired,” he stated with a definitive cluck of his tongue. “Why didn’t you come to me sooner? Don’t tell me that Vagastrom Vice-Captain— Kurosagi, was it?— was running circles around you again. I swear, he’s never up to any good.”
Yuri’s arm gently clasped around your wrist, hesitating briefly before daring to pull you towards his desk. “…Sit. Your impromptu appointment will tolerated just this once.”
When you didn’t immediately respond by falling at the genius doctor’s feet in overwhelming gratitude, Yuri’s cheeks flared with a familiar hue of pink. “I, Yuri Isami, am sparing time out of my busy schedule for you! Show some respect already—!”
