Outside the windows is a starless dusky sky, illuminated by the occasional flash of moon from behind heavy grey clouds. Below are the city giants, black skyscrapers highlighted by luminescent windows. The monotonous buzz of yellow florescent lighting and the continuous ticking of a clock fill a silent classroom. Five students, all imprisoned for their various vices sit idly at desks, watching the minute hand insidiously creep to the magic number twelve.

At the head of the classroom is a teacher, sitting guard as the pupils serve their time. "Hey, I'm just going to go out for a bit." He says, standing up and picking up his mug, no doubt to fill it with the elixir of life (coffee). "Don't do anything." He continues, a half-hearted and empty threat, but still one all the less. The door slams, leaving the students with momentary freedom.

Isaac, a popular soccer player with black hair notorious for his bad attitude and good luck with girls leans back on his chair. "I say we leave, anyone agree?"

Ella, a quiet nerd with a knack for blending into the background pushes her glasses up her face before mumbling "I don't think we shoul- "

"Actually that's not a bad idea," interjects Clarissa, a cheerleader feared by many but somehow still loved by all. She twirls her blonde hair with a manicured finger. "Jacob, you down?"

"Yeah fuck this shit" Replies Jacob, self-proclaimed daredevil and star basketball player. Brushing his dreads out of his face he continues "I'm down".

Ella interrupts again, pushing her red hair out of her face. "I still don't think we should..."

"Oh don't be such a scaredy-cat its not going to kill you" Clarissa rolls her eyes

"Yeah loosen up. Damn" Adds Jacob

"But-" Ella starts

"Y'all should listen to her" Says a boy with curly brown hair sitting in the back, his legs resting on the desk.

"Shut the fuck up Ash" Jacob snaps

"Oh so you want to start that again" Ash snaps back

"Yo, calm down?" Isaac interrupts their bickering
