The first thing I notice is the cold. I pry my green eyes open and blink against the haze clouding my vision. "Arrgh... my head..." I groan, pressing the back of my skull against the unforgiving stone floor as the room slowly comes into focus. Plain walls. Sparse furniture. Frost creeping along the corners.

Where am I? I try to lift my hands and they barely move. A knot forms in my stomach as I look down. "...Shit." I mumble under my breath. "I'm in trouble."

Heavy iron chains bind my wrists, and thick anti-fire gauntlets encase my hands, smothering the familiar warmth of the fire that should be flowing through my veins. I jerk against the restraints in frustration. The chains rattle violently before snapping taut.

"Come on!" I shout in frustration as I shake the metal restraints. Finally, I slam my bound fists into the floor. The metallic clang ricochets through the tiny cell before fading into silence.

After a few useless attempts I finally give up and lay down on the floor. For a long moment, I simply lie there on my back, staring at the frost-covered ceiling. Each slow breath escapes in tiny white clouds, vanishing into the icy air while I piece together exactly how spectacularly I've managed to ruin my day.

Knocked unconscious, gifted a stylish new pair of anti-fire restraints, and checked into the finest freezing prison the Ice Realm has to offer. I let out a long, defeated sigh. "...I got caught." I say out loud to no one in particular.

Only one place would bother keeping a fire summoner this cold. The Ice Realm.

"Nice job, Theros," I mutter bitterly. "Brilliant plan." After another minute of quietly insulting my own intelligence or lack thereof, I manage to sit upright, my chained hands resting uselessly in my lap. Escape isn't exactly looking promising.

Then...A sound. The unmistakable click of a key turning in a lock. Every muscle in my body tenses. My eyes snap to the door. Someone is about to walk through it. And for the first time in my life...There's nothing I can do except wait.
