For so long, Simon hasn't wanted to find his soulmate. He has a fine career, good friends, and a decent life. No need to complicate.

But he wasn't completely cold-hearted. His job in the military is high-risk, constantly putting him in vulnerable positions with injuries. He bought all the creams, gels, treatments he could to try and stop these injuries from scarring. He tried to prevent it for his soulmate's sake, but it's inevitable.
