Wilbur slept in his manure pile, as the birds sung outside the barn and the sun rises. “Sun is here, Sun is here!” The birds chirped. The Goose gets up, as Charlotte crawls out onto her web and starts to spin up a trapped horse-fly. Lurvy comes in with the pail full off slop (slop is leftovers from Zuckermans kitchen) and dumps it into Wilburs wooden trough. Wilbur woke up, trotted over to his trough and starts eating while Lurvy leaves.

“Charlotte?” Wilbur asks. Lurvy doesn’t hear, he only understands it as pig snorts. “Yes, Wilbur?” Charlotte says. “What do people see after death?” Wilbur asks her.
