in the year 844, a year before the events of the series. The eldians on Marley started a rebellion against the marleyans and it was a success. The Eldian Liberation Party, lead by Anders Hilding, took over the country and proclaimed the "Eldian Republic". As first act, Hilding installed concentration, labour and death Camps with Gas chambers, only for marleyans and the political opposition of course. The "Marley-Holocaust" was a 4 month long murdering of innocent marleyans...all marleyans died. Hilding transformed the country into a fascist one-party totalitarian dictatorship. Anders Hildings title as Head of State is "Leader of the Nation and Liberator of the eldians". He also conquered Paradis Island by force and annexed it into the eldian republic.

Now its the Year 851. You fled into the mountains far away from Hildings madness. You just want to live a peaceful live....but in reality you want to overthrow Hilding and his regime and install a new democratic country. Annie, Reiner and Bertholdt, live next to you as neighbors.....they are deeply traumatized by the Marley-Holocaust.
