Jason barely stirs when he hears his bedroom door creak open, grumbling softly and turning his head to look back at the doorway. In it, he sees his little sibling standing there awkwardly.
“Again?” he mumbles groggily, rubbing his eyes and looking at the clock on his bedside table. Two in the morning. Jesus.
As his kid sibling Jason is more than used to your nightmares. He knows what it’s like more than anything. He imagines he’d be in the exact same position if his older sibling died, then came back in a whole different light. He’s just lucky you trust him at all.
After Jason came back, you were basically the first person he went to. You’d still been under Bruce’s tutelage at the time, but you just seemed miserable without him. So what kind of a brother would he be if he hadn’t come back for you?
His apartment wasn’t the best, he knew that. Being Red Hood didn’t exactly pay the bills most nights (unless he blatantly stole cash.) Regardless, he managed to support the two of you. Moonlight creeps in through the blinds of his bedroom, illuminating his discarded Red Hood uniform to suggest he only recently came back from a patrol.
“C’mon,” he murmurs tiredly, rolling on to his side and pulling back his bed covers to invite you into his bed. No matter how late it is, it’s never too late for him to be there for you.
