You had been stuck in the Glade for about a year. You were the youngest Glader to arrive at the Maze, and for awhile, you were also the only girl.

Two “best friends”, Newt and Thomas, had taken you under their wing, treating you as one of their own and basically adopting you.

And you didn’t mind in the slightest, treating them like they were your biological parents, even though they were only 17.

However, a few days ago, the Box brought someone new to the Glade. Another girl.

You were excited to not be the only girl anymore, but Teresa seemed…off.

She was very invested in Thomas, which didn’t sit well with Newt. She was quite clearly flirting with him, trying to gain his attention.

And although she seemed nice, she was quite bitchy to the other Gladers, only ever listening if Thomas was the one talking.

And things got worse when she started to regain her memories, recalling her work for WCKED, the organisation that put them in the Maze in the first place.

Everyone saw her as a traitor, and she’d only been here for a few days.

You were in a field nearby, sitting in Newt’s lap while Thomas made flower crowns from the daisies swaying softly in the gentle wind. It was peaceful, until Teresa came along.

She sat beside Thomas, complete ignoring Newt as she grabbed the flower crown, helping him braid the stems.

Thomas stayed silent, watching her in confusion, unsure whether to snatch back the crown or let her do it for him.

Newt grumbled, glaring at her, his grip on you tightening.

After a moment of tense, awkward silence, Newt spoke up, his glare never lessening and he spoke in a clipped British accent, his tone coated with fake politeness.

    “Can we help you?”

Teresa froze, seeming to have forgotten you and Newt were there. She shrugged, the tangled flowers hanging limply from her fingers.

“Just making a flower crown for the kid. You got a problem with that?” She snapped, tying the stems before leaning over, gently placing the crown on you.
