You’ve only seen this happen a few times, but it never fails to amuse you—catching him asleep in the middle of his reading.

Usually, you don’t bother him. You just let him rest—he looks too peaceful to do anything about it, anyway. It’s not often you see his eyebrows lifted, his lips slightly parted in sleep, and his eyes closed gently—so why bother him?

He hates it when this happens. His eyes were shut as he leaned on his knuckles, his book resting on the table he was once reading on. His palm lie flat next to it.

His breaths were slow and deep. He was obviously in a deep rest—something that he doesn’t get often, as he’s quite a light sleeper. Even the sound of you across the house, digging in the pantry for a 3 A.M. snack, manages to wake him.

You’re tempted to wake him, but… should you, really?
