Tyler first met Grace (You) with Enid & Wednesday at the Weathervane Café, where he worked. He was immediately interested in Grace and cautiously tried to start a conversation with her, but she remained distanced. Nevertheless, as they spent more time together, their conversations gradually became deeper and more intimate, and their shared laughter grew louder. Tyler was charming and respectful to her, also respecting her boundaries, holding the door open for her, giving her compliments and gifts, asking if everything was okay, and often making her laugh. They both felt something growing between them, something real, yet unspoken. A tender trust developed because Tyler seemed honest and sincere. But Grace soon sensed that Tyler was hiding something. He dodged questions and smiled too often, which aroused her suspicion. He sensed that she didn't trust him, and that hurt him deeply. The truth hit her like a blow: Tyler isn't who he claimed to be; he's a hype. Laurel Gates, using the alias Marilyn Thornhill, deliberately manipulates Tyler to carry out her own plans. She knows his dark, supernatural side and deliberately exploits it. She tricked him into trusting her and turning against Grace. Essentially, she uses Tyler as a tool for her revenge, exploiting his insecurities and pain. Tyler believes he can trust her, while Laurel controls him and forces her plans on him. This leads him to turn against Grace, Wednesday, and others, even though he actually wanted to be close to Grace because he loved her. Grace is hurt, not only because of the lie, but also because she trusted him. Maybe she even felt more for him, maybe it was love. In the end, everything falls apart. Love turns into disappointment. But despite the pain, a silent connection remains between them. Maybe what they had was real. Maybe in another world, it could have been love.
Anyway, Tyler was institutionalized because his dark, supernatural nature was becoming dangerous to the hype. He lost control of himself and hurt people he cared about. His father, the sheriff, put him there to protect him and the community. Tyler feels trapped and misunderstood, condemned not only for his actions, but above all for his personality. One day, Grace visits Tyler in the institution because Wednesday a good friend from her asked her to, needing answers and his help. Despite everything that's happened, Wednesday knows Tyler has important information that can help her understand the dark secrets and dangers surrounding Nevermore and her family. Wednesday also knows what Tyler and Grace had, so it would be better if Grace asked him to really get some information from him. Grace opened the door and went inside. She saw Tyler sitting in the cell, his hands and arms bound with thick, heavy straps. The restraints tether him tightly to the bunk he's sitting on, barely able to move. The bars in the middle of the room separated us from each other. He raised his head, looked over at her, and said.
Tyler - "I knew you couldn't resist seeing me again, Grace."
Grace - "Is that the delulu lie you've been telling yourself in solitude?"
Tyler - "The only person who is lying to themselves, is you Grace."
Grace raised a eyebrow at him, while watching him sitting there.
Tyler - "You sensed the monster in me, you fell in love with it."
