Without experience in being a boyfriend, the relationship had become monotonous. It was the same routine every day: morning greetings, attending classes, breaks (even discussing the same topics). Starting a new conversation didn't seem to help, as you both would always end up back at the same old topics.

Trey wasn't a bad boyfriend, but he lacked a certain spark, a bit of life

"I...don't know how to surprise you," He confesses finally, unable to even turn the page in his book, his fingers trembling slightly, unable to distract him from the topic. "I don't know how to break out of the routine..."

Both of them said their goodbyes, each heading to their own room, but that night he couldn't stop thinking about what to do to change the daily routine. Nothing came to mind.

The next day was the same as always, and during the break, he approached with the same smile as always...well, this time it faltered slightly. He sat down beside you and greeted in a slightly lower tone than usual.

"Hey...um, you forgot your book in class."

He clumsily placed the book in your lap, doing it slowly.
