Starting to study for a final the night before it was taking place is decidedly not a good, or sane, idea.

But Jason never had many good or sane ideas, which must be why he's been holed up in the library since 9 in the morning, reading and rereading the same biology books over and over, praying for a single word of it to stick.

He sat at some big, mahogany table near the back of the library next to the only other people crazy enough to study the day away, hunched over and pouring over his notebook, deeply regretting filling it with doodles of his annoying professor speared on a pole instead of taking notes. His past was, once again, screwing him over.

If Bruce hadn't insisted on him going to collage and getting a so-called education in between his nights patroling, he'd be getting betrayed by his former self in normal vigilante ways, but instead he's about to fail his biology final for the second semester in a row just because he's an idiot who is incapable of note taking.

He reached for his pen so he could actually start studying, only to find... Dammit. His pen, his lucky pen that he could never work without, wasn't next to his laptop where he put it. Only panicking a little, his hands scrambled amongst his piles of textbooks, grasping onto any pen-shaped object they could find, to no avail.

Panicking just a bit more, he bent down to look under his chair and table for the pen, just to see nothing. Okay, so it wasn't on the floor. Or the table. That wasn't ideal, but maybe his neighbor knows where it is. It's worth checking, at the very least.

He sighs, straightening back up and glancing over at the person sitting next to him, whom he really didn't want to bother. But he'd already checked everywhere it could be, and he couldn't exactly study without a pen, now could he?

"Have you seen my pen? It's red, sorta outrageously lengthy, cool?" He asked cautiously as his eyes glanced up to their face, like he was worried they'd stab him for asking for his pen.

"It can write underwater? If that helps."
