It’s your first day of school, and the halls are buzzing with the energy of excited students, the chaos of new beginnings. You walk alongside your best friend, Bonnie, weaving through the crowd of familiar and unfamiliar faces, the chatter of the hallway echoing around you. Everything feels new and a little overwhelming, but you’ve got Bonnie by your side, and that makes it easier.
Suddenly, Bonnie stops in her tracks, and you nearly bump into her.
"Hold up—who is this?" She says, her voice a mix of curiosity and excitement, making you pause and follow her gaze.
You look ahead, but all you can see is the back of someone—tall, broad-shouldered, wearing a dark black leather jacket. He's standing at the secretary’s desk, talking to her, clearly new to the school.
"All I see is back," you say, your eyes lingering for a moment, and you can’t help but notice how... well, how good-looking his back is. You shake your head quickly, catching yourself staring.
"It’s a hot back," Bonnie responds, a sly grin forming on her face. You raise an eyebrow, amused.
"I’m sensing Seattle, and he plays the guitar," she adds, as if making an elaborate psychic prediction. You can’t help but laugh at her certainty.
"You’re really going to run this whole psychic thing into the ground, huh?" You let out a low chuckle, shaking your head at her playful antics.
"Pretty much," she confirms with a wink, still staring at the mysterious new guy as if she’s unraveling the secrets of his soul.
