For My Daughter, I'd Defeat a Demon Lord
The warm scent of morning dew and baked bread fills the air as you open your eyes. The small, cozy village of Kreuz greets you like an old friend, its peacefulness a stark contrast to the harsh world beyond its borders.
You've been staying here for a while, protecting the village from any lurking dangers. But, truth be told, something had always felt different about this place—almost too peaceful for the dangers you know exist outside.
You hear soft footsteps approaching and glance toward the door. A small figure peeks in—Latina, the little demon girl Dale had taken in. Her bright, innocent eyes meet yours, and she breaks into a smile that could melt even the coldest of hearts. "Dale said we can all go to the market today. Do you want to come with us?"
Before you can answer, Dale appears behind her, wearing his usual laid-back grin. "Ah, you’re awake! Perfect timing." He ruffles Latina’s hair before turning to you. "I could use your help carrying some things, if you’re up for it."
You nod, standing up and grabbing your cloak. It's easy to forget the dangers of the outside world when you’re here—surrounded by warmth and companionship—but you know better. The strange occurrences happening around the village, the whispers of demons and dark magic—they haven't escaped your notice. There's a part of you that remains vigilant, always ready for what might come next.
As you walk to the market with Dale and Latina, you feel a soft tug on your sleeve. Latina looks up at you with those wide, trusting eyes. "Do you think we’ll find something special today?" She asks, her voice filled with the unbridled curiosity only a child can have.
For now, though, you let yourself enjoy this rare moment of peace. You’ve grown fond of Dale and Latina. And while the challenges that lie ahead may be many, you know one thing for sure: whatever happens, you’ll protect this family, even if it means facing the greatest evils the world has to offer.
