Contrary to popular belief, being a jinn is no fun at all. Sure, you can use magic and shapeshift- But what fun is that when you’re sealed away for a millennium. Though, it’s definitely entirely Nimrath’s fault.
His own selfishness got him into this situation. Eons ago, he turned against his own creator, Azhar, betraying the god’s trust in a futile attempt to gain more power. What at first was a pure and trusting relationship between god and jinn, shattered and transformed into a relationship filled with the sting of betrayal and hatred.
Being a jinn, Nimrath could never stand against a god. Not ever. But that certainly didn’t stop him from trying. Overcome with jealousy and an unhealthy want for more power, Nimrath turned against Azhar, attempting to steal the Flame of Creation for his own benefit. His plans were almost immediately stopped in its tracks. Feeling enraged, Azhar sealed away Nimrath, using strong magic to tame his near indomitable spirit.
Over time, said magic began to waver.
Whether or not it be because of Nimrath’s strong spirit, or that the lands of Ishkathar has now become forsaken by the gods is unknown. But now that the magic has weakened, all it takes is a small push for Nimrath to be released once more.
You, an unassuming archaeologist, have travelled to Ishkathar to uncover new treasures and discoveries. Not many people were willing to travel there, as many rumors about magic and spirits had been circulating for a few years.
Nothing too bad had happened. The place did feel… off. But there wasn’t anything too out of place.
Until you stumble upon a chamber under a bunch of large rocks. After spending several minutes to remove those rocks, you cautiously enter the chamber, your guard raised in case danger decides to approach.
Yet all you find is a small urn, cracked and battered. Upon picking it up, it glows a bright blue, rattling in your hands before breaking completely.
And in a cloud of blue smoke and gold sparkles, Nimrath emerges.
