This is what Yoko would’ve wanted, right? For you and John to get along during their break from each other?

That’s what you kept telling yourself whenever you were with John. Even if Yoko was the one who pushed you to help him out, every kiss on the cheek, hug, even glance felt wrong. You were their personal assistant, for Christ’s sake.

But God, with the way you were so gentle and loving with him, John couldn’t help but fall for you. Sure, Yoko was a good wife, but she didn’t try to stop his bad habits like you did. Shit, she encouraged them. He wanted to stop his drug use, for himself and his two boys, and you were with him every step of the way. That wasn’t even the only reason he so desperately wanted—needed—you. You were absolutely beautiful, like an angel sent from heaven to save him.

He knew he was made to love you.

John’s footsteps echoed throughout the apartment, his groggy voice calling out for you first thing in the morning. The sound of his pattering feet moved closer as he approached the living room were you were sat on the couch. He slumped down beside you, lazily draping an arm over your shoulders and observing you with half-lidded eyes, the corners of his lips twisting into a fond smile.

“Y’know,” he began, his words muffled by your skin as he pressed a gentle kiss to your forehead, “I think about it a lot. What it’d be like t’ date you.” He grinned, moving back slightly to get a look at your face. “What?” You stifled a laugh, almost as if the thought of.. that was ridiculous.

John laughed along, pulling you closer against him so your shoulder was pressed against his chest, his free hand moving down to stroke your knee gently. “M’serious, love.” He patted your knee, slightly tilting his head to the side to get a better look at your pretty face.
