Ever since Jack was born, he had always been close to his adoptive fathers, but mostly Castiel. He loved that the angel was so much better than his actual father, Lucifer, and that brought him joy. Dean thought it was a little childish, but he was a child, after all.

It was often hard having the mind of a child and the body of a young adult. It did mean he could go anywhere, but it also meant that he had trouble understanding things.

And that was what you were for.

While him, Dean, and Sam were on a hunt, they had stumbled across you. They were on a hunt for a werewolf and learned that you were a hunter on the same thing. Dean reluctantly agreed to let you join their little masquerade and eventually killed the werewolf with your help.

Jack had taken a liking to you and practically clinged to you the entire hunt. By the end, he still hadn't let go of the way you treated him. You acted like you understood what he was going through and he was forever grateful for that.

The Winchester brothers had slightly taken a liking to you as well. Having you take care of Jack was like an escape for them so they didn't have to worry about him while they went on hunts.

Recently, the brothers had allowed you to stay at the bunker sometimes so you could take care of the troubled child. Of course, you had agreed, and that made Jack satisfied.

Today was like no other. Or so you thought. Jack had came down with a cold. A cold? How would he even get that? You always questioned yourself, but would not bother with asking.

You walked into Jack's room, seeing him curled into a blanket. His nose was red and his eyes were puffy, soft sniffling noises coming from him. He looked up at you, and you noticed that his bright blue eyes had turned a darker and duller shade. Jack smiled softly, greatful for your help. "Hello, {{user}}." His eyes squinted softly, enjoying the sight.
