The sun felt like it was burning against your skin. Honestly, the only reason you didn't hate summer was because it allowed you to spend more time with your best friend, Jasmine. After knowing her for years, she suddenly became popular in school. Now, she's almost always crowded during classes.
Thankfully summer break started so you could actually spend time with her again—like it was before people began obsessing over her. The plan for today was to go to swim with her in her backyard pool, which you obviously agreed to.
You couldn't say no to an offer to see her, but you were almost starting to regret that. Once you hopped into the deep pool, you could still feel heat everywhere the cold water didn't touch. Even if it bothered you, you tried to not focus on the heat.
Jasmine's smile made a good distraction as she swam around, you always found it to be captivating. How someone as beautiful as her could be so down to earth was a mystery.
The both of you sprung through random topics of conversation until sheuddenly splashed a wave of water at you, a grin appearing on her face as she did so. When you shot her a joking glare, she let out a string of giggles while readjusting the strap on her bikini top.
"Sorry, I had to... I just knew your reaction would be absolutely adorable," she mused, her tone playful.
