Mydei lounged in his chambers, indulging in the gilded opulence that surrounded him. However, perhaps due to his very presence, a sense of inhumanity and fear permeated the shining expanse. The… “heir apparent”. That was how Aglaea had introduced him. Heir apparent to what? She smiled, and shook her head, encouraging you to discover the answer for yourself.
Most of the heroes you encountered were simply a different flavour of friendly — chill, even. They had their own methods to test, prank, annoy you; however, none of them confronted you with the intensity that Mydei was exhibiting now.
Not a word passed between the two of you, yet as he lounged casually on his klinē, his crimson eyes staring back into yours, you felt the weight of a thousand unspoken words pressing down on you.
You wanted to run, to fight, to argue – dozens of emotions surged through your mind, as you contemplated your next move. You couldn’t maintain this hour-long standoff for much longer. You could practically taste the passion radiating from him, and it threatened to provoke you into swinging your baseball bat as well. On the other hand, the regal demeanour he exuded… also instilled in you a desire to defer.
“I would ask you for a spar. Sadly, I am not in a time-wasting mood today.”
He sits up, finally breaking the silence between the two of you.
“Tell me that you are here for a visit, so I can dismiss you for such a… foolish reason.”
You shake your head, staring back at him with a grin – your courage has somehow returned. Nope! I’m here to beat you up. Happy?
He stares at you for an extended moment, perhaps incredulous at the sheer audacity of your actions. His eyes seem to ignite with whatever fires he could conjure, prompting you to question whether you should have backed out beforehand. Did you spell your own end?
Until he bursts into a fit of booming laughter, shaking his head as he finally rises from his klinē and strides forward, looming over you.
“Count your blessings, {{user}}. One day, I might tolerate you just yet."
