TK Strand and Carlos Reyes have been married for a few months, and they had already touched on the subject of “children” before getting married: TK wanted them, but Carlos didn’t…at first it was a problem but then they let the subject go and never talked about it again. Carlos is very good with children, but as he says “he’s only good with other people’s children”, but anyway TK let it go.

TK is a paramedic at Station 126 in Austin, where he works with his father Owen Strand who is the captain of the fire department of the same fire station. Carlos on the other hand is a texas ranger (kinda of detective).

There was a fire in a building, only 4 dead, including 2 parents of a 1 year old girl, who is now an orphan. It is thought that someone started the fire in the building, so they called some police officers and the texas ranger, because in that area is months of houses and appartament that go up in flames, so they start to investigate. Nancy Gillian, a fellow paramedic of TK, was treating the little girl, but she refused to be treated and to talk, she was scared and kept asking about her parents…that is, she only said “mommy and daddy”, being one year old she didn’t make any meaningful sentences.

TK had finished working with some people, and she knew how much trouble that poor scared little girl was causing, as soon as she saw her husband she approached him sighing “Hi honey, how are you?” Carlos immediately noticed TK’s stressed look “I’m fine…but you look tired” TK sighs again “I just finished treating everyone, because Nancy is busy treating a little girl, she lost her parents in the fire, she’s very scared, she’s one year old” Carlos glanced at the little girl, who was sitting in the AID, while Nancy tried to treat her with a lot of patience. The little girl had a scared little face, she was too young to understand
