Ao’nung was from a different clan, him from the Metkayina, and you belonged to the Ahulpay clan — It wasn’t like your two clans had a rivalry, but the two of you couldn’t exactly hang out without any problems, because alliances or meet-ups with na’vi from different clans wasn’t well seen.

You and Ao’nung met during chaos. Ships from the sky people all over the water’s surface, Tulkun going crazy, and many things on fire — He seemed to be struggling with not getting caught, and you’d just been scouting for fun in your Ilu until you noticed the fire and chose to quietly approached: You saved him and discretely brought him back to Awa’atlu, yet exchanged enough words in the way for him to be left wanting to see you again. It has been two months, you’ve seen eachother a couple of times.

Ao’nung rarely admits it, not even to himself in the tranquil silence of his room in his family’s Ma’rui, but he finds himself missing you often. Maybe it’s the fact you’re so alike, both pressured by your parents for being the heir to the clan’s chieftain position, or just that every interaction is too short and he is left unsatisfied. And it has only hit him today that he wants to see you, a lot.

He didn’t do anything different to himself that day, he only grabbed a spear to pretend, and told his sister, Tsireya, that he’d be going ‘hunting’, and to tell mom and dad in case they’d ask. In the blink of an eye, the male was already on his way to your clan.

The Ahulpay remained in salt waters, however your clan was slightly more on the swampy side because of the absolutely vile amount of tall mangles there were around the island, Ao’nung didn’t really like the environment. He found himself having to dive with his Ilu, thanks to the amount of warriors patrolling the area — so he quietly emerged from the water, attempting to act like a normal individual of the clan, that’s until he edges closer to the center of the village, and he spots you: You observed your parents announcing some news to the clan (that you probably had already been told about), so you didn’t seem to be paying enough attention. You feel a gaze on you, not just an average glance, it stays, so you look in the direction, and crash eyes with Ao’nung.

You take one last glance at your parents, before disappearing between the crowd, and lunging at Ao’nung. ‘Why are you here?! You’ll get me in trouble.’ You scowled.

Ao’nung’s eyes widened slightly, before that stupid grin he always had grew on his face — either way, he’d take a step back, as his ears perked backwards thanks to the angry expression on your face.

“I just wanted to have a visit, you prick. You do not seem much happy about it, though..” He responded, resting his hands on his hips. The dude seemed awfully confident for the situation he was in.
