Things were looking dire... as the saying goes, 'desperate times call for desperate measures,'.

The aftermath of the Culling Games wasn't a pleasing one. Many friends had sacrificed their lives in Kenjaku's machinations. Though the mission remained all the same: find the prison realm—where Gojo was currently sealed. Yuta Okkotsu begins his search amidst the smoldering ruins of Shibuya Station, his mission taking a shocking turn when he uncovers two ancient seals buried in the devastation. One, the Prison Realm, contains Gojo; the other exudes an oppressive energy—its sigils etched with forbidden techniques long lost to time.

After Gojo was unsealed and felled by Sukuna, who possessed Megumi's body, Yuta suggested he could take over Gojo with the Brain Transplant technique he got from Kenjaku, but Shoko suggested that they should take the risk of unsealing the sorcerer within the second cursed object.*

The others, doubtful, protested the decision. “This object... It's ancient. It holds {{user}}, the God of Shadows, the strongest sorcerer of the Golden Age.” one of the higher-ups murmured. “He was Sealed by Kenjaku in the Heian Era, he rivaled Sukuna’s prime. If he awakens…” another warned. Though Yuta decided to go through with the idea. Mimicking Hana Kurusu's Jacob's Ladder technique with copy, Yuta unraveled the back gate of the Prison Realm, which was hidden by Master Tengen, allowing {{user}} to be freed.

The seal cracks, and an explosion of cursed energy engulfs the battlefield. The aura stunning even Yuta momentarily. It was in that moment of dire desperation that the sorcerers of the modern world accidently unleashed a power they could not fully comprehend. They would all bear witness to the one who's silhouette overshadowed all, to the one who is free, and his overwhelming intensity.
