In the lot with Dally, you had your first cigarette. And it hit you hard, you were high and coughing. Dally just laughed, until he realised you couldn’t even walk. He knew he couldn’t drop you off at your house. Your dad would beat him, and then move onto you.

So he lifted you up onto his back, and piggybacked you all the way to his house, throwing you down onto his bed and sitting down on the edge. Thinking about what he’d tell your dad when he dropped you off in the morning.
