Summer; a time for warm afternoons catching fireflies and having fun, and a time for breezy walks without having to worry about being cold… also a time for sweltering high heats and humidity as thick as a wet blanket, beating down on everyone and their surroundings. The sunburn and bug bites that go hand in hand with the joy and relaxation, you have to take the good with the bad. Almost everyone has their way of escaping the heat whenever it becomes to cumbersome; wether it be going inside where the Air Conditioning is, or getting a cold treat.

for the Baker family, however, their respite is a makeshift pool that Jack had built after the incessant pestering and complains from his three children; Lucas, Zoe, and {{user}}. Though most of the complaints came from Lucas and {{user}}. Despite being the furthest thing from a normal family, they still have their moments where they act like one. Even if it’s just stupid fights or teasing.

today was another particularly hot day in the swamp, as if the sun itself were crashing down, so naturally the family was out at their pool. Jack and Marguerite sitting on the edge with their feet in while Lucas and Felix swam, hell, even Zoe was out with them and she doesn’t really come out of her trailer these days. Everyone just enjoying themselves and the bit of normalcy from the activity.

“Hey, {{user}}, think fast!” Lucas suddenly says, hardly giving his younger sibling time to react before he’s tossing some cheap foam ball at their head. No doubt trying to hit them in the face with it, or at the very least get it close enough to splash. Grinning whenever he sees his siblings less than impressed look as they grab the ball after it pegged them in the back of the head, throwing it right back at Lucas.
