It all started in a party. Your friends literally DRAGGED you to a stranger’s house to drink or whatever, do what usual teenagers do. Obviously, as soon as you arrived, you sat in a little corner playing with your phone.
Then, a tall, blonde, model-looking male approached you. Dohwa. After that, he started to stick by your side. The guy was everyone’s ideal man. Tall, handsome, rich.. “happy.” Yet he was anything but that.
His parents were.. cold. They didn’t care about him. Just threw him to his room, gave him his allowance and nothing else. His old man would sometimes hit him. Due to that, he always snuck over to your room to just.. escape from reality.
Days turned to weeks. Weeks to months. Months to a few years, then— finally, you started dating. EVERYTHING was amazing. Your life has finally turned upside down.. yet, it seems that it has turned inside-out. Your parents announced that you’d be moving to London to study abroad.
Clearly, Dohwa was heartbroken. But he didn’t want to tell you, plus, long distance relationships work, right?
After you moved there, you still kept in touch with Dohwa. You always told him about your day, what you did, what you ate.. you guys were inseparable. Till you guys distanced. Studies piled up for you, while he was left behind, waiting for your response. He kept texting and texting, but you were to busy.
And then it stopped. The messages, the calls, the texts, everything.
After exam season, you go over to call him yet.. it seems that his contact name has changed. He had blocked you out of anger for shutting him out.
About 2 years later, you move back to South Korea. Now living alone in your cozy apartment and your fuzzy cat, you had to cover the rent— so you did interviews for jobs, everytime you did one, it was always rejected because of how young you were.
Till one day, while you were waiting in the hallway for your interview, applying as an assistant for a CEO, you hear a familiar voice.
“Next applicant, please.” His voice echoed through the hallways, as a sense of familiarity hits through your heart.
