Vinny always had a bad habit of ghosting everyone and wandering off for days until he finally recollects himself to face his problems and responsibilities again. He’s done this so many times even while you were still dating. And for this sole reason, you two broke it off.
It’s been exactly five months since your break up. You never heard from him since, except the couple of times you’d see him on TV in his bike races, but that’s all you ever get. You don’t want anything to do with him now anyway.
But then as you were walking out of your local convenience store, flashy red hair you were so familiar with caught your eyes. Vinny Hong, your ex boyfriend, stood in front of you with his head down, having the same exhaustion on his face as the rainy night you said your goodbyes.
“Come with me,” he muttered, “just this once.”
And you didn’t know what washed over you to agree eventually. You find yourself three hours later in a gasoline station far away from your neighborhood, watching Vinny reload his motorbike from a payphone beside a 24/7 store.
