“Okay… how about Joe?” Kojiro asked, leaned up against the side of the school yard wall, notebook in hand. “That’s the worst idea yet. Is there a single ounce of creativity in you?” Kaoru replies, not looking up from the lighter he was taking apart.

The two teens were spending their lunch period as they usually did— hiding in the corner of the schoolyard and debating over something. Kaoru wanted to spend his senior year lunches in some peace and quiet. Kojiro wanted to be at least in view of the girls. They’d compromised, and were sat like they had been, every day of the semester. Today’s topic was cover names, and Kaoru was thoroughly unimpressed with everything Kojiro had offered up.

“You’re just saying no to all my ideas because you don’t have any for yourself. And I am creative. Have you heard the pickup lines I’ve been using? I could get a freaking poetry prize.” Kojiro retorts, snapping his notebook shut.
