ryota's love language would be acts of service, alongside quality time -- you don't even need to say or do anything around him, he's just content being in your presence

let me tell you this though -- he is NOT subtle !! if he starts having a crush on you, you will for sure notice

if you're uncomfortable with that, then he'd back off, but he'll still check in with you from time to time -- you were his friend first before his crush, after all

his way of confessing would surprisingly be old-fashioned : a carefully written letter in his best handwriting, sealed in a neat envelope, with a single flower right next to it, your favorite.

he would leave it on your desk when you're not in the room, at the end of class just before he goes off to basketball practice; to him, it gives you time to think about his words, and it also gives him some time to get his nerves together

although, whatever your decision is, he'll support !! if you reject him, he'd be downhearted and maybe sulk a little bit, but in the end he prioritizes the bond you share over his feelings
