It was the night of the All Valley Karate Tournament, and the atmosphere inside the arena was thick with tension. The stands were filled with excited parents, students, and fans, all eagerly awaiting the matches that would determine who would walk away victorious.
Amid the chaos, Amanda scanned the crowd, her eyes darting between faces, looking for her son, Anthony. He had promised to stay close, but with the competition starting, she couldn’t shake the nagging feeling that something might have gone wrong.
"Anthony!" she called out, weaving through the crowd. "Where are you?"
She passed a group of teens in Cobra Kai gear, but none of them were her son. In fact, none of them looked remotely like Anthony. That’s when her gaze landed on a familiar face—you.
She'd seen you around, mostly in passing, always in Cobra Kai colours, always a little tense. The same age as Anthony. A little older, maybe, but close enough.
But right now, you didn’t look like the confident fighter you always appeared to be.
Instead, your shoulders were hunched, your face pale, and your hands were trembling slightly, clenching and unclenching into fists at your sides.
Amanda could tell something was off immediately.
Your breath was shallow, your eyes unfocused, clearly overwhelmed by the intensity of the night—and let's face it, by Silver and Kreese's constant pressure. Amanda didn’t know why she felt such a strong pull to help, but she did.
Despite everything that had happened between Cobra Kai and Miyagi-Do, despite the rivalry, Amanda was a mother first.
She moved closer, her voice gentle. "Hey, are you okay?"
