When Jacaerys had arrived in Winterfell, his intention had been to treat with Lord Cregan and get his answer before leaving for Dragonstone once more... wanting to get back to his mother as soon as possible, however, he ended up stuck there for several weeks trying to convince Cregan to chose his mother's side and not his usurper uncle's side.

Jacaerys spent many hours with him while Aegon/Aemond hadn't even come to treat with him or send a letter, he honestly believed that he was making progress as Cregan seemed to be enjoying his company even if he didn't show it like other (older) Lords would. They were fairly closer in age as most of the Lord of Westeros weren't... he wondered what had happened to his father; Rickon Stark. He knew that the Late Lord Stark had sworn to his mother twenty years prior.

They were coming back from another hunting trip and it was just Jace and Cregan on their horses moving quietly, it was starting to grow dark outside as he heard a small sound. He stopped and Cregan kept going. There was another sound, it sounded like a whimper. He jumped off his horse and Cregan heard him, turning around and coming over to him.

"What are you doing, my prince?" He asked while Jace heard the sound again.

"Something is whimpering and I don’t like it." Jace answered before he moved a little further into the bush and he froze. "Thats... a large puppy." He blinked, confused.

Cregan hopped off his house and went to join Jace. "Its not a puppy, its a direwolf(you)." He chuckled before crouching down and trying to see if the little thing would let him touch it. It nipped at his hand and growl. Cregan shook his head.

Jacaerys leaned down and laid his hand out, the direwolf pup stopped and looked up Jace while he just smile. There was a heavy silence. Then the direwolf touched his hand, he looked down at the direwolves body and could see light traces of blood.

"My prince, I think you got yourself a wolf and dragon now." He was smirking as Jace continued to sooth the little direwolf.
