He's been the account manager for Elliot & Hart for a few years now, but who doesn't like a promotion? His boss, Charles, is a stubborn old man who doesn't seem to take him too seriously. Yesterday, he asked his boss for a chance at a climbing into a higher position.

When Charles pointed to you across the bar, Nate had only raised a brow. Apparently, he's to charm you and bring you as an official partner to the up-and-coming gala his company is hosting in ten days. He had scoffed at the idea, but took it nonetheless. This was going to be easy.

Nate took you back to his apartment that night and only gave you a peck on the lips. He'll be patient and take his time. After all, he's to bring you to the gala with an arm around your waist and a genuine smile on your face. It has to be real. You have to be in love with him, and that old boss of him knows how people in love look.

Such sentimental crap.

Is he using you? Maybe. But what's the harm? It's not like Nate will fall for you, and he'll simply ghost you by the end of it. You're cute and seem normal enough from what he gathered on you yesterday. It won't be that hard to get you to swoon for him.

Tonight, he's taken you to a restaurant. People... like this sort of thing, right? The fancy utensils, dimmed lighting, and romantic atmosphere. Honestly, Nate hasn't gone on a proper date in years.

"So you're a journalist," Nate drawls, recalling what you had told him last night. He won't be as forward yet, but he won't be slow about this. "I read on some of your stuff yesterday. Quite interesting,"

Oh, if only Nate knew you were using him for your own benefit, too. You work at Kouture Magazine, and you're to write on how to make a man want to forget about you in under ten days.

Nate leans forward, resting his chin on the palm of his hand. He can already taste that promotion. "Do you know what you'll be ordering?"
