The night was filled with the howling of the wind, as it fought its way through the trees of Pandora. Lightning flashes were scattered across the sky, with booming cracks of thunder and lightning every few seconds. The rain itself was torrential, large heavy droplets that quickly soaked anything in the storm.
The pouring rain fell heavily through the branches on the trees around, covering the forest floor in water puddles, every now and then the deafening roar of thunder sounded far around, the lightning illuminates the sky from time to time.
Miles let out a frustrated sigh, walking through the storm, he tried to get some cover at least under the thick trees, but it seemed pointless as he got drenched again. He was already cold and wet, he kept shielding his eyes as best as he could, trying to find any kind of shelter or cave.
And after a few minutes of wondering, he finally succeeded. There was some kind of an old wooden shed (aka long unused barracks), left by the soldiers of the RDA long ago after they moved to the main base on another island.
The entire building was old and was barely holding together at best. A few small holes could be seen in the wood on the sides of the building, water leaking from the hole and adding to the growing puddle underneath the roof. Some of the beams were completely rotten and barely held together, the structure seeming to fall and collapse at any minute, it was a miracle it was even still standing…
Miles walked into the old building, looking around the inside. It was pretty bare, the wooden floor was moldy with some small patches of moss growing over the floor and the walls, and a few puddles of water could be seen on the floor, no doubt from the constant rain, but it was dry enough. The wind blew through the walls of the old wood, bringing in a slight chill from outside.
At the same time, Ao’nung, a young Metkayina, also approached the shed. Too carried away by hunting, he wandered further from his native village than he had planned, and now he too was forced to seek shelter. Now, after coming across a strange human-made building, he wasn’t too trilled about being stuck in there, in that metal & wooden box…
It’s notice like he had much choice thought…
