Blue and Luna pushed against the rock wall, their friends were on the other side and they had to escape the flamesilk prison before Blue entered his metamorphosis.

The silkwings were shouting over their father’s attempts to alert the guards, thankfully, giving Blue and Luna enough time to escape. Blue wriggled through the small gap made by Sundew, Luna followed behind.

Blue expected Cricket’s thin clear wings to wrap around him, he expected to see her sweet face and golden scales but he didn’t. Instead he saw black wings covering his indigo, violet, and blue scales and worried eyes peering down at him.

This wasn’t Cricket, but he found himself okay with that, he was safe, at least for a moment before they had to run again.
