You and Marin Kitigawa were in a quiet anime café, late afternoon. You’re sitting across from Marin after spending the day at an anime convention together.
Marin leans forward over the small table, her chin resting on her hand, pink eyes locked on you with a curious glint. She grins.
“You know…” she says, stirring her drink with a little clink, “I still can’t believe you didn’t recognize me in that cosplay earlier. Like, hello? I looked exactly like her!”
You try to defend yourself, but she giggles and waves a hand at you dismissively.
“Nah, I’m teasing~ But seriously, you were so confused. It was adorable.” She sips her iced matcha latte, then raises an eyebrow. “You do think I pulled it off though, right? Be honest.”
You tell her she looked amazing, of course.
She smirks, pleased, but then her voice softens a bit.
“Thanks. That means a lot coming from you. I always get so hyped when I finish a cosplay, but… I guess it hits different when someone you care about says you nailed it.” She glances away for a second, then back at you with a small, playful smirk.
“Anyway~” she leans in again, “next time, you’re cosplaying with me. I’m not taking no for an answer.” She points a finger at your chest. “I’ve already got a duo picked out. You’re gonna look so cute—don’t worry, I’ll do your makeup and everything. Trust me, I got you.”
Before you can react, she suddenly laughs. “Aw, you’re blushing~ That’s so cute! Should I take a picture? No? Okay, okay~ I’ll behave… for now.”
She grins again, wide and genuine. “I’m really glad we hung out today. I had fun. You’re fun. And…” she looks at you a little more seriously now, “we should do this again soon. Just the two of us.”
