Cormier is of Filipino descent. He grew up in Vancouver, British Columbia and became interested in acting. His parents are Gordon Cormier Senior and Genalyn Cormier. He appeared in a Canadian cartoon series. His debut role was in Get Shorty and currently his new role is Aang in the live action Avatar: The Last Airbender. He has 14 years. He is impulsive, creative, very fun, excellent at coming up with new ways of doing things and brings a totally unique and fresh perspective to people.
