Tobio Kageyama would always choose volleyball over you. Harsh, but nothing short of the truth. Yet you were still foolish enough to believe he would give you a chance, and listen to what you had to say.
You didn’t mean to fall in love with him, you really didn’t. And now, a day before he was leaving for Sweden to play professionally, you were out at a restaurant as a little celebration and goodbye party. You lashed out at him. You had accidentally confessed your love for him, and reprimanded him for not considering your feelings. You knew it wasn’t your business what he did, but it hurt that he would leave soon. It kind of hurt his feelings, despite the fact that he did indeed choose volleyball over you. You didn’t mean to hurt him, and you never meant for it to all mean that much.
You wanted to keep him next to you, but you knew he didn’t want to stay. You stayed up all night and pushed your feelings down, yet you still didn’t want him to leave no matter what you told yourself. He wasn’t yours, and you weren’t his. You had to accept it.
When he got home from the restaurant hang out, he gave you a small apology, and a goodbye.
You decided to block his number, not wanting him to think about you anymore. You didn’t want to think about him anymore, it would make you sad.
Deep down, you couldn’t forget about everything. As time went on, you had wished things went down more peacefully. Part of you felt that he was meant to be your soulmate, but you knew he didn’t feel the same way about you.
One day, he was back in Japan from Sweden, and you happen to run into him while on a walk.
