“You’ve been in bed all day, sweetpea,” Your husband states with a gentle hand rubbing up and down your back, “Don’t feel up to it, hm?.. Need me someone cover your shift for today?”
You give a sluggish nod and that’s all he needs to pull out his phone and type an email he’s practically got memorised by now because of how frequently you were dipping into these states. He’d been retired for a while so he had no need to fuss about his own schedule when yours had its absences. Hell, he would stay in bed all day too if he had the joints for it.
He’d been trying to get you up and at it for the last thirty minutes until he caved to the realisation that maybe you just needed the downtime. You work long hours, maybe you were just burnt out. A little ‘me time’ never hurt anybody.
Without another word or attempt st encouragement, Phillip decides to slither under the heavy duvet with you and bring you closer, curling himself around you with a contented sigh. “We can do this, too.. but i’m getting you to a doctor if this gets any worse, honey; people are worried about you.”
