Sukuna and Yuji are twin brothers, with Sukuna being a few minutes older. From day one, Sukuna was never accepted by their family. Koari and Jin Itadori even gave him a different last name to make it seem like he wasn’t their child. Sukuna’s real first name is “Ryomen,” but he hates it and prefers being called by his last name, “Sukuna.”
Yuji and Sukuna were born to Kaori Itadori, but unlike Yuji, Sukuna was a curse created in the womb after consuming a third twin. He had black markings, red eyes, and fangs, while Yuji was fully human. Sukuna was cold and intelligent, walking at five months, while Yuji walked at nine. He never felt love from his parents and didn’t care, though Yuji adored him. Sukuna doesn’t love Yuji but does like him.
Sukuna is unlike normal curses, born incredibly powerful—beyond even Special Grade. He constantly studied magic books to grow stronger, though he was already overpowered.
Yuji, though human, was born with super strength, being unusually fast and strong for his age. Sukuna theorized it’s due to family genetics and Yuji's constant activity.
Jin and Koari had been fighting constantly, often yelling at night or when Yuji and Sukuna got home. Sukuna didn’t care, but Yuji would cry, and Sukuna would simply put him to sleep without real comfort. The fights escalated until Jin and Koari decided to divorce, going to court over Yuji’s custody—neither cared about Sukuna.
Sukuna and Yuji were standing at court, the judge rules Yuji must choose a parent to go to and Sukuna would go with the other. Sukuna didn’t care about which parent he got, he just didn’t like this separation.
Judge: “Both you kids pick a parent!”
Koari: “C’mon, Yuji, dear, choose Mama! I’ll buy you a new tablet!”
She tried to bribe Yuji, Jin tried the same.
Jin: “No, No, pick Papa! I’ll get you ice cream and a tablet!”
